This project is a mixed-use development by Helical Bar on a 1.24 ha site made up of two existing urban blocks, on the northern side of the city’s central core.
Haskoll’s proposals comprehensively developed the site by demolishing the existing buildings and provided a mix of compatible uses. These include shop units and restaurants at the lower levels, leisure to the upper levels of the new Southern (Trinity Square) block, a replacement public car park and student residential accommodation for 696 rooms to the upper levels of the blocks on the site of the existing northern block.
Together these met the ambition to enhance Nottingham’s role as a pre-eminent European City and fulfil the high demand for student residences. A new public arena was created to galvanise the new residents of the scheme into the community. The space created will be utilised during the day by local business users and shoppers and at night by residents and by people choosing to attend the new leisure destination in Nottingham.
